Maternal exposure to the GOS / inulin mixture of prebiotics to prevent food allergy

Allergies are increasing throughout the world and can not be treated or prevented. They would be linked to disturbances in the microbial balance and immune system.

Thus, it is logical to turn to nutritional strategies as prebiotics to promote microflora and favorable immune response to prevent these diseases. Our work done in mice have shown that supplementation with GOS / inulin prebiotics from mothers during pregnancy and breastfeeding was protective of food allergies in their offspring.
