I graduated with a degree in Chemistry from Zaragoza University (Spain) in 2003 and undertook Physical – Chemistry training fellowship at the Department of Organic and Physical Chemistry in Zaragoza University. In 2008, I obtained a European PhD from Zaragoza University, concentrating at the fabrication and characterization of thin films containing conjugated organic derivatives. In 2008, I undertook a 5-year researcher position at the Centre for the Food Quality (INIA) in Soria (Spain) and actively collaborated with the Centre setting-up and establishment of research lines, conducting studies on emerging projects on bioactive components from natural products. I participated in several collaborative projects with private companies as well as in several national research projects focused on food properties and characterization of bioactive substances from edible materials. In 2013, I undertook a 2-year post-doctoral position at the Research Unit of Biopolymers, Interactions and Assemblies from the National Institute of Agricultural Research (INRA) in Nantes (France) aimed at the fabrication of multilayer films containing polysaccharides obtained from natural sources. Since 2015, I have a permanent position at INRA (INRAE since January 2020). My research focuses on the fabrication of smart materials from natural resources.
