Based on observational studies and epidemiological modelling, the BioEpAR joint research unit has quantified the relative contributions of aerial transmission and animal trade in the spread of Coxiella burnetii between dairy cattle herds. The aim was to generate knowledge that would make it possible to guide the nature of measures to effectively limit its spread to herds that are still free.
