An innovative herd health monitoring system improves surveillance, prevention and health in organic cattle farming.

In order to strengthen advisory actions for the benefit of herd health in organic farming, a herd health monitoring system combining flexible monitoring and prevention protocols, co-constructed by the farmer and his veterinarian, has been designed and evaluated in the field. By stimulating dialogue between farmers and veterinarians, this innovative system promotes surveillance activities, changes in farmers' health practices and, ultimately, the health of the herd.
