FEMS 2015

Secalim will present its research at the 6th FEMS congress which will be held from the 7th to 11th of june, 2015 in Maastricht, The Netherlands

The 6th FEMS congress (FEMS 2015) is one of the main conferences in the field of microbiology and will bring together thousands of microbiologists from all over the world. It covers disciplines including molecular approaches, biodiversity, eucaryotic microorganisms, virology in order to promote excellence in, and maximize the impact of, scientific knowledge and innovation in microbiology globally.
Secalim will present its research, particularly on application of wood for food contact with two abstracts (1 and 2) and on the deciphering of bacterial communities in poultry meat (3):
1. Comparison of three recovery methods of microorganisms from wooden surfaces in order to provide an efficient method to quantify the microbial load on the wooden surfaces in direct contact with food possibly used by manufacture wooden packaging.
2. Describing and quantifying bacterial transfer from intentionaly inoculated wood (L. monocytogenes) to cheese, as a function of different factors
3. Understanding the diversity of bacterial communities in poultry meat to improve food quality and safety.
